Everything You Need To Know About Video Marketing

September 18, 2018

Why you need to focus on video marketing:

“2016 saw a surge in the popularity of video as a content marketing format. 2017 saw video rise to the top of your marketing tactic list. What has 2018 seen? In short, 2018 has transformed video from a singular marketing tactic to an entire business strategy.” - Hubspot

But video hasn’t only transformed how businesses market and consumers shop; it’s also revolutionized how salespeople connect with and convert prospects and how service teams support customers. In short, video is incredibly useful throughout the entire marketing plan— not just to heighten brand awareness.

Video is the fastest growing content medium out there. Video is a great way to build your Realtor marketing and client base. There are several ways to use video to engage with your clients, and 96% of consumers report that video is a helpful factor in making decisions. But, with any new trend, it can be tricky to get the hang of it. We've pulled together a quick sheet of the best practices for each of the major video streaming services.

Facebook

Anyone who has been mesmerized by one of those miniature recipe videos will believe this: Mark Zuckerberg reports that by the year 2020 he expects that the majority of all content on Facebook will be video. Facebook Live was launched in April 2016 and has become a favorite tool to stand out in a crowded Newsfeed. The video is, well, live, so when creating content, it's helpful to keep that in mind.

Vlogs

Video blogs gives your viewers a special, behind-the-scenes look at your life. This type of video is used to help your audience better understand who you are and our usually less serious, unless you’re doing a “Day in the Life of a Realtor” vlog.

360° & Virtual Reality

With 360° videos, viewers “scroll” around to see content from every angle — as if they were physically standing within the content. This spherical video style allows viewers to experience a location or event, such as showing a house. Virtual Reality allows viewers to navigate and control their experience. These videos are usually viewed through devices such as Oculus Rift or Google Cardboard.

Youtube

The weird and wonderful world of YouTube... there's really no limit with what you can do with your YouTube channel. YouTube videos will last forever, so your angle here will be establishing yourself as an expert on your niche. Be aware that the YouTube comment section is notorious as the worst of the world wide web and either consider keeping comments turned off or steel yourself for the weirdos of the world.

Instagram Stories

Instagram Stories is the new kid on the block in terms of video social media. Instagram has taken over most social media, and is now making waves in the video world by their response to Snapchat.  Same concept, slightly different audience. Instagram has a wider audience than Snapchat with just over 500 million active monthly users. Treat Instagram Stories as a platform for authentic brand engagement with potential clients.
