A-Z Guide To Crushing Your First Year In Real Estate

August 14, 2017

A-   Authenticity

Be clear about who you are and where your strengths are. Be genuine and show clients what differentiates you from other agents.

B-   Be Available

Be available to your clients. Let them know that you are here to answer any questions they might have.

C-    Content

Be consistent on your social media and write for your blog.

D-   Dream Big

Agents that dream big and believe they can achieve more will achieve more.

E-    Educate Yourself

Learn everyday. Read books, listen to webinars and podcasts, attend classes, become an expert that people can trust.

F-    Friends and Family

Market to your network. 42 percent of all new buyers come from a referral.

G-   Gifts

Leave a lasting impression with clients so they will refer you to their friends and family

H -   Help Others

By being helpful to others and paying it forward you will develop a positive image in your community. Who doesn’t want a realtor they know and trust?

I -   Invest in Yourself

Investing in your business is key. Set up your lead gen and marketing budget and stick to it.

J - Juggle

As a Realtor, time management is everything. You have to be able to juggle your clients, brokerage, team and, of course, your family.

K -   Know your Neighborhoods

Successful agents are always learning more about their area. They know all the crucial housing and demographic data as well as events going on.

L -   Listing Presentation

Perfect your listing presentation and practice it.  Don’t show up without comps and keep it simple.

M -  Marketing Automation

Some marketing tools may seem complex, but once you start automating, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

N -   Negotiation

Take any opportunities you can to practice your negotiation skills. Read scripts, and attend classes. Being a great negotiator will set you apart from other agents.

O -   Open Houses

Take any opportunity you can to host open houses to generate clients.

P -    Plan your Day Before it Starts

One of the best ways to improve time management is to plan your day before it starts.  By doing this you will make the most out of your day. Being organized will allow you to focus on what is important.

Q -   Quiet

Listen to your clients and allow them to speak first. Having open communication with clients will foster a sense of trust.

R -   Relationships

Close to 70 percent of clients chose their agent on a referral, know them personally, or were past clients.

S -    Social Media

Let your personality shine! As the hub of your brand, your social media should show personality, originality, and enthusiasm.

T -   Time management

Real estate agents are small business owners. You must maintain your business, find new clients, and be up to date on market trends.

U -   Understanding

It is important to be empathetic with your clients. This is their home and letting go of it can be a tough process for some people.

V -   Validation

Give you clients your ear. Remind them that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

W - Write Daily

Your blog is a great way to rank online and give your brand a voice. Even if you aren’t the best writer or you’re having writers block, write something, anything, everyday.

X -    X-perience

Get all the experience you can. Go to classes, have a mentor, read books, etc.

Y -    Yearly Goals

Set yearly goals for yourself and what you want to accomplish during that year in real estate.

Z -    ZZZ

The early bird catches the worm. Wake up early and work towards your goals everyday.
